Follow-up Comment #3, bug #31352 (project octave): My comments on newinterp2: 1. Is there any difference in result between the meshgrid case and __splinen__ with the corresponding arguments? Which is faster? 2. The scattered data case looks like a generalization over __splinen__. 3. The nargin==3 special case is broken; XI and YI remain unassigned and Z has the wrong content. 4. The spline+ppval combination can be reduced to a spline call with three arguments. 5. Please fix the standard bicubic interpolation for equispaced data.
