Follow-up Comment #4, bug #32129 (project octave): Then I agree that the pkg function should export MKOCTFILE and perhaps OCTAVE_CONFIG environment variables that are set to the full paths of the mkoctfile and octave-config programs that correspond to the running version of Octave.
