Follow-up Comment #4, bug #32167 (project octave):
To get a better idea of what the error might be, I checked in the following
changeset
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/e306683a7e97
and I'm seeing a "data error" from zlib's uncompress function.
Looking at http://www.zlib.net/zlib_how.html, it seems that this error means
that "either the data is not a zlib stream to begin with, or that the data was
corrupted somewhere along the way since it was compressed"
I'm not sure where to look to debug this problem. Are we using zlib
incorrectly?
I'm adding David Bateman to the CC list for this report since I think he was
the original author of the code that interfaces with zlib.
