Follow-up Comment #16, bug #31931 (project octave): I am seeing similar behaviour (as noted in bug #32165). For me the crash happens in line 136 in fltk_backend.cc glMatrixMode (GL_PROJECTION); A bit of Google'ing tells me that this usually happens if the frame buffer is not initialised. I tried seeing if I could call glCheckFrameBufferStatus to determine this, but I never managed to persuade the compiler that such a function exists :-( Is it possible that when we don't have a plot to show, we don't have a frame buffer either?
