Marco,

There is a way.  The status of the bug can be changed from "None" to "Patch
Submitted".  After that, the bugs can be filtered by status to show those
with patches which have not been closed.  The only obstacle is that one
needs to be on the Octave member list for Savannah to do this.

I spoke with John W. Eaton (jwe) and he would be happy to grant you that
privilege.  You have submitted good, clean patches in the past so I didn't
think it would be a problem.  In addition, being on the Savannah list gives
you check in privileges for the Mercurial archive.  This would allow you to
take care of simple patches yourself without having to post it and get
another one of the maintainers to do the commit for you.  It can be awkward
to use Mercurial at first and I could help with the first few check-ins if
you like.
