Perhaps it's good to transplant this change to stable. I didn't think of it
when I applied it. Do you want to do it? 

If you're using hg 2.0 or later, you might like this command:

    http://www.selenic.com/mercurial/hg.1.html#graft

Otherwise, I can do it.
