Follow-up Comment #11, bug #35852 (project octave):

I am having the same issue with 3.6.1 on Windows 7 (64bit).

The same files are read fine with 3.2.4 and 3.4.3. There appears to be a
problem with 3.6.0 and 3.6.1 on Windows with fscanf that is causing it to
prematurely stop reading files.
