Follow-up Comment #2, bug #36868 (project octave):
This is still a problem. I cleaned the workspace, pulled, rebuilt, and
reinstalled (Jan 13, 2013). This time I typed in
> eps
and waited for about 1/2 hour. There did not seem to be a problem. After
this wait, I attempted to enter
> 2
But, the ui was frozen. I hit "2" on the keyboard a couple of times. To
unfreeze, I maximized the screen and then restored the size. The display read
something like
> 222222222
Backspacing eight times, maximizing, restoring, and then entering a carriage
return, maximizing and restoring, the console now reads
octave:1> eps
ans = 2.2204e-16
octave:2> 2
ans = 2
octave:3>
One of four CPUs is 100% active.
