Follow-up Comment #29, bug #38564 (project octave): I tested this patch to the current devel in F18 x86_64 with llvm 3.1 and it works correctly. So, it seems to make sense to push this patch (subject to any testing on other systems) and close this bug report. But, then a new bug report should be opened for the separate issue that llvm should use dynamic linking instead of statically linking the llvm libraries.
