Follow-up Comment #18, bug #38305 (project octave): "The file dialog is probably the only part of Octave that relies on Samba access. My guess is that Samba masks or blocks the mechanism that notifies QProcess of a completed task. " I use the default Qt Widget / File-Dialog in my own GUI, but only inside the Octave GUI is freezes if a samba server is running. The question is why... What is doing Octave GUI differently that causes this issue...
