Details:

Immediately after starting an MXE-built Octave (GUI), clicking in the command
window doesn't allow entering any command. The cursor indicates that the
command window has no "focus".

I first have to click in e.g., the history pane, then in the command window,
and from then on can I enter commands (and the cursor starts blinking).

This behavior started a few weeks ago, initially I paid little attention but
it turned out to be consistent.
