Follow-up Comment #1, bug #41022 (project octave):
(Note: Partial duplicate of Bug #40792. New information provided in this bug
report is that GUI behavior is not restricted to Unity but happens with Gnome
as well.)
Quick work-around I use on Ubuntu 12.04: use alt-tab after you close the
figure window. That will return focus to the command window. You shouldn't
need to click.
