Follow-up Comment #8, bug #41337 (project octave):

Readline commands involving Meta key work for me if I use ESC followed by
p,>,< ... (this is the default behavior in mac terminal also).

Michael, to be clear, only hard coded shortcuts (those in the GUI menu) using
CMD work for me. 
There is an exception though: CMD+C may copy a selected text or interrupt the
execution of the current octave command (which involves readline).  

Does this wortk for you Michael ?

pause (10) #press CMD+C to interrupt
