Follow-up Comment #2:
I see that part of the problem is that I tried to get us closer to Matlab
compatibility (http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/figure.html), but they
don't support the syntax
figure (N, 'property', value)
This is convenient for them because they don't have this problem.
I'll review your patch soon.
