Follow-up Comment #17, bug #41236 (project octave):
It turns out that this fix causes mkoctfile to link to everything under the
sun, which makes redistributing MEX/OCT files difficult. On
octave-maintainers, JWE agreed this was something that needs to be fixed. I've
fixed it by creating a new AMCOND_LINK_GUI_DEPS variable that targets just the
GUI libraries. Changeset attached (macgui.diff)
