Follow-up Comment #7, bug #41955 (project octave):
A full gdb backtrace would be helpful to diagnose this problem. If you are
installing Octave from the Ubuntu repository, you should install the
octave-dbg package to get debug symbols for the Octave binary packages.
I am still unable to reproduce this with 3.8.0 or 3.8.1 on Debian testing and
on Ubuntu 14.04 beta.
