Details:

image objects in Matlab have a DisplayName property and can be used in
legends.  Following cset 2deed6538c72, Octave image objects now have the
DisplayName property as well.  Legend needs to be modified to support these
objects.

It would be useful if someone with access to Matlab could also test whether
the default legend location is changed to be "outside" the plot box.  Sample
code for testing:


close all
hi = image ();
hl = legend ('Test');
get (hl, 'location')
