Hi,
Can you provide more details: what octave binary did you install, system
language, ... everything that could make your install different from other
"regular" octave users'. The reason I ask is that if such simple script
consistently crashed Octave, I think it would have been reported earlier.
Also, is the crash/freeze reproducible over octave sessions?
In the title of the bug report you mention the "terminating semicolon". What
happens without the semicolon?
The second line of your example expectedly leads to an error :
error: for A^b, A must be a square matrix. Use .^ for elementwise power.
but doesn't crash/hang octave on linux (neither dev nor 3.8.2 release).
