Details:

I am running GNU Octave on a dual-booting PC with 32 GB RAM, but the Windows
installer (Win 8) of GNU Octave (3.6.4) limits RAM usage to less than 1 GB. On
Linux, I find no corresponding limit for the current version of GNU Octave
(3.8), and am able to load large multi-GB matrices until the entire RAM is
used up (thereafter, swap memory is used). What is the way to solve the memory
issue on Windows?
