Follow-up Comment #22, bug #44116 (project octave):

The default qt menu can be removed by

set(gcf, 'MenuBar', 'None')

so it's still possible to build custom menus with uimenu. I think we can
forget about the uimenu patch. The octave_link thing still remains an issue.
