Follow-up Comment #1, bug #44458 (project octave):

I see from the PDF file:

<xmp:CreatorTool>gnuplot 5.0 patchlevel 0</xmp:CreatorTool></rdf:Description>

that you used the gnuplot graphics toolkit.  I'm working on addressing this
along with several other bugs at the moment and will have a patch by the end
of the day at this bug report: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?44187 and you
can be a tester.

We'll keep this bug report open for now so that others wanting to report the
same notice this near the top of the list.  But let's put all comments at just
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?44187, then close this sometime around 3/8/15.
