Confirmed.  I also tested the patch and it clears up the problem.  Since you
are creating several patches for Octave would you like to be recognized in the
list of contributors to Octave, or would you prefer to be anonymous?

Either way is fine.  Generally for code check-ins we use FIRST_NAME LAST_NAME
<address@hidden> so there is a way to contact someone if a patch turns out not
to work.  In the Octave manual the form is just First_NAME LAST_NAME and
appears in the Preface section.
