Follow-up Comment #6, bug #45590 (project octave):

My preference is to stay with the desktop icon set, at least for now.  Even
with a slight change in icon look-and-feel, it takes a moment to get used to
an appearance different from the default.  Note also that icons have tool-tips
for quick reference...  The extraneous space of the editor layout should be
addressed, though, in another wish/bug report.
