Follow-up Comment #6, bug #45610 (project octave): I have applied your patch, and compiled Octave for my Ubuntu Linux (= not Windows) with it. Here I verified that your patch does not have any side effects on the Ctrl+R behavior on Linux. But I am currently not able to compile mxe-octave with a patched Octave version for Windows. If you tell me an easy way to do this, I could give it a try, though.
