Follow-up Comment #5, bug #45865 (project octave):

After adding closed parentheses, text command executes, but string is not
rendered properly. Also tried

>> close all
>> graphics_toolkit qt
>> plot(0:3)
>> set (gca,"fontname","FILL_IN_A_GOOD_FONT")

and text in plot is still not properly rendered. Resizing doesnt help.
