Follow-up Comment #5, bug #45947 (project octave):
Yes, see bug #45308 for my motivation for opening this bug. A novice user may
not even know about the existence of ~/.octaverc, and may not know exactly
what path is set to when savepath is called, but it could inadvertently
"break" their Octave installation without any indication of what went wrong.
