Details:
Hi Octave Team-
I've noticed a possible bug in Octave 4.0.0 running on Linux (both Mint 17.1
and 13 OSs, 32-bit Atom processor Asus eeePC netbooks).
During a session, I might want to Clear Command Window. Of course the actual
window may be filled well above the portion visible in the GUI - the unseen
portion can be viewed via the scroll down/up slider.
I do a Clear Command Window, and only the visible portion of the text on the
command window is cleared - the portion above, accessed via the slider,
remains.
Furthermore, it is impossible to clear that remaining portion, even if it is
pulled down into the visible portion of the GUI. Instead, upon Clear Command
Window again, the command line is simply offset another GUI screen's distance
from the previous one - thus, you wind up with a stack of big gaps, but cannot
clear the entire command window, the portion above.
This differs from the behaviour of the Windows version of Octave 4.0.0 in
which Clear Command Window wipes the all the text from the GUI command window
away, and you are presented with the command line at the top of the window
(i.e. slider at the top) and no text whatsoever remaining.
I believe the latter is how Clear Command Window is meant to perform?
Thanks!
-Ron
