Details:

Running in octave 4.0.1-rc3:


pkg install -forge nan


Fails with:


>> pkg install -forge nan
error: could not download file nan-3.0.0.tar.gz from url
http://packages.octave.org/download/nan-3.0.0.tar.gz
error: called from
    pkg at line 400 column 13

The link on the Nan page of octave forge has fails to download - both as they
are looking for nan-3.0.0.tar.gz however the file that is there is there is
nan-3.0.tar.gz
