Follow-up Comment #20, bug #47571 (project octave):

Make a file foo.m in a Unicode-aware text editor with two lines:

str = "ΓΌ"
type foo.m

and execute it. If it prints, then the problem is how Octave interacts with
keystrokes. If it didn't print, then the problem is in Octave's display code,
or its mismatch with UTF-16.
