Follow-up Comment #50, bug #49609 (project octave):
I had the same problem (instant logout / crash of the desktop when pressing
Ctrl-C in Octave, if started from the desktop) in Xubuntu 16.04 with the XFCE4
desktop.
The proposed patch fixed the issue.
