Project: GNU Octave Submitted by: nidi Submitted on: Tue 07 Mar 2017 10:22:12 PM UTC Category: Octave Function Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Unexpected Error Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: 4.2.0 Operating System: Microsoft Windows _______________________________________________________ Details: If I start Octave via cmdshell.bat and "octave --no-gui" my inputs are not detected properly by octave. For example if I type in "exit" I get: "error: 'eit' undefined near line 1 column 1" It seems that octave simply ignores some characters in the input. (can be clearly seen in the pictures I will attach) There are inputs which octave never gets right e.g. "exit" and "x=1". Other inputs are somtimes interpreted right an sometimes not e.g. "1+3" or "ans". The last version I used octave without its gui without this problems was 4.0.3. I tried working and found those errors in the 64bit and 32bit version of octave 4.2.0 and 4.2.1. I work on Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise. I downloaded all versions of octave I used as a .zip file from: https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/octave/windows/ _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue 07 Mar 2017 10:22:12 PM UTC Name: octave_problem.jpg Size: 123kB By: nidi These problems occur also in the above called versions. <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=39929> ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue 07 Mar 2017 10:22:12 PM UTC Name: octave_problem_2.jpg Size: 85kB By: nidi These problems occur also in the above called versions. <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=39930> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?50488> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
