Follow-up Comment #8, bug #39041 (project octave): Is the following concatenation not legal in Matlab? x.a = 1; y = {'ok'}; z = [x, y]; but reversing the order of concatenation is legal? That seems to be the special case that the tm_const class is handling with this logic: if (any_cell && ! any_class && ! first_elem_is_struct) cellify (); Otherwise I don't understand why that check is in there.
