Follow-up Comment #46, bug #49118 (project octave): The patch in file #39829 no longer applies to a current tip. Attached is a refreshed patch that also adds support for NTFS variants that do not store short (8.3) filenames (like my new laptop with pre-installed Win10). Is there any interest in taking this patch that only helps the user experience on Windows?
