Follow-up Comment #17, bug #48365 (project octave):

I tried to code the test in plain C++ as suggested in comment #6 (see attached
file). Compiled with the g++ that comes with the Windows installer for Octave
4.2.1 64bit, the deviations are the same as in the BIST test:
