Follow-up Comment #19, bug #50750 (project octave):
What is a good way to benchmark?
I tried
x = rand (4, 200);
tic; plot (x); toc
But I don't see much difference between the layer3 and layer6 patches in terms
of performance.
For the time being I pushed the latest layer6 patch because there are new bug
reports about the behavior with light being incorrect.
