[Octave-bug-tracker] [bug #51707] textscan seems to skip chunks of text

Follow-up Comment #6, bug #51707 (project octave):

I just tested it on another machine (also W10x64), which does have 4.2.1, and
the exact same issue arrises. However, all 3 alternatives offered in comment
#3 seem to work.

A minor note: the textscan function in Matlab doesn't gobble empty lines by
default, so am I correct in thinking that there is an incompatibility as well
as a bug?

Anyway, I now have a workaround that should work for my function, so thank you
for your help.
