Follow-up Comment #31, bug #36954 (project octave): I'm afraid it isn't what you and I hoped for, (This is on Win7 prof. 64bit) AFAIK Windows doesn't keep its TZ setting in environments strings, it's rather in the registry. Using the OF-windows pkg that can be accessed invoking simple calls. But for core Octave that doesn't help.
