Follow-up Comment #23, bug #51830 (project octave):

If we can't figure this out we could always override the config cache like we
do for other cross-compiled functions. Just add ac_cv_func_gethostname=no and
gl_cv_w32_gethostname=yes to the set of variables we precondition the
configure script with.
