Follow-up Comment #11, bug #51782 (project octave):
This is what I got running your test (attached).
I, personally, would prefer if we had a work-flow done through
pdf rather than eps
(by using e.g. pdflatexstabndalone print driver), but I
guess it is still a controversial subject.
