Follow-up Comment #33, bug #36372 (project octave):
Minor comment. The changeset describes this as:
"Improve speed of ranks.m when dim!=2, and give choice of tie-breaks (bug
#36372)"
I agree with the "give choice of tie-breaks" part.
But, regarding speed:
In fact, I think it improves the speed - and exponentially so - irrespective
of dim, when there are (lots of) ties.
