Well, one step at a time ;-)

LLVM 3.8 seems to be a reasonable target, since it is the version currently
available in Debian stable (strecth), testing (buster) and even unstable
(sid).

...

(and if any maintainer is reading this: can you please consider pushing the
very simple patch attached to Comment #6 ?)
