Follow-up Comment #23, bug #52647 (project octave): I added a new function isstring() which reports whether an object is a string array or not (http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/0b65949870e3). Since Octave does not implement string arrays, this will always return false.
