Yes, I was the original reporter. I don't see this anymore. I don't know
why, given that KDE is based on Qt, but there lots of weird issues running the
Octave GUI with Qt. One of the issues that just kills me is the fact that
undocked widgets in KDE can't be re-positioned. At least I can adjust their
size now, thanks to some changes by Torsten, but KDE refuses to let me move
the detached widgets so I always have to leave them embedded in the
interface.
Holy crap, just figured out that I can move windows by using Alt+Left Click.
That helps enormously. I guess the issue is that KDE doesn't see these
undocked widgets as full windows and doesn't put the decorations, like a title
bar, on them. There was nothing for the window manager to grab so I couldn't
move them.
If only we could force KDE to put window decorations on these...
