Follow-up Comment #1, bug #53355 (project octave):
that's not really a zombie process, it's just running in the background, but
you can simply bring it back to foreground by typing "fg" at the prompt.
That seems the standard behaviour of any CLI interpreter in UNIX, I'm not sure
why you think that is a problem ...
