Follow-up Comment #8, bug #53218 (project octave):
I don't know exactly what fixed it. I Used scripts given by Ben for configure
and make. Without all the compiler flags and PATH changes the build failed for
me. The instructions you link don't give these scripts at all so I attach the
scripts that Ben sent me. IMHO the instructions should be improved.
