Follow-up Comment #2, bug #53892 (project octave):
I have the same problem (Win-10 x64) and tried different Fonts:
Immediately it works fine, also with the Standard TT Courier New 10pt. But
after reloading Octave I have the same problem with the new Font. So I noticed
that changing to any Font works fine only for that Octave session!
