Follow-up Comment #15, bug #54342 (project octave): The question for me is whether we should purposefully break backward compatibility, and move to Matlab compatibility so that the same random number seed value would produce the same random number streams on both Octave and Matlab. This could be important for people who want to directly take Matlab code and run it in Octave.
