Follow-up Comment #1, bug #55385 (project octave):

As a note to the package maintainer or whoever works on this, please use
'$(shell pkg-config --cflags libpcre)' and '$(shell pkg-config --libs
libpcre)' instead of the deprecated and internal-use-only 'octave_config_info'
function.
