Follow-up Comment #1:
The log file doesn't show how Octave was pulled from the hg repo, but my guess
is that it used 'hg archive' instad of 'hg clone'. If that's the case, then
yes, the .hg metadata is obviously missing and the build system has no way to
know which hg id was pulled. Can you confirm that is the case?
