Follow-up Comment #8, bug #55267 (project octave):
I have recompiled Octave (the 5.0.90 tar ball) on the same Ubuntu PC, and did
a proper "make install". Now this behavior is GONE for me as well. Maybe it
was just a side effect of starting Octave from the build directory, without a
proper 'make install' done.
In my opinion we could now CLOSE this issue.
